We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate with a deep understanding of cats and a strong background in retail sales. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with customers, consulting on feline nutrition and behavior, and creating a welcoming retail experience. Responsibilities: Provide exceptional service to customers, including personalized consultations on cat behavior and nutrition. Assist customers in selecting appropriate products for their cats based on individual needs. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently. Maintain clean, well-organized shelves and product displays. Conduct product demonstrations and educate customers about new items. Upsell complementary products based on customer consultations. Monitor inventory levels and assist with reordering to ensure product availability. Requirements: A minimum of 15–20 years of retail selling experience in independent pet stores or specialty grocery stores (such as Trader Joe's or Whole Foods) is required. Other work experience will not be considered. Proven ability to deliver high-level customer service and build lasting relationships. Experience with POS systems and routine cash handling procedures. Flexible availability to support existing team scheduling needs. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking and inventory. Proactive and sales-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify customer needs and make appropriate product recommendations.
